The design problem
A shared platform needs to support individual businesses without treating their data, users and branding as interchangeable. Each business needs its own records, access permissions and identity within the system.
How it works
The system identifies which business someone is working with and uses that context to select its records and website. Each business can have its own branding, while platform administration has a separate workspace.
Keeping business records separate
The project includes automated checks that property searches return records for the current business and reject attempts to save records against another business.
Project stage
HighlandHost is a development project, with foundations in place for separate business workspaces and websites. It has not launched publicly.
Where the experience is useful
The pattern is relevant when a product serves multiple property businesses, brands or other organisations. Requirements for data separation, access, onboarding and support should be agreed before the build.
